Jennifer believes that the most important part of eventing is the confidence the rider and horse have in each other. Partnership and trust are the basis for safe and enjoyable eventing. It takes dedication and patience to develop this trust between horse and rider. Repetition and consistancy are key factors to building a sucessful partnership.

Jennifer focuses on the flat work to build a riders seat and balance. She develops her students ability to use their hand aids independently from leg and seat aids. Once the rider is able to supple and engage the horses forward motion, she teaches them how to develop lateral movements and how to adjust the horses stride without disrupting the horses balance.

Once the horse and rider are able to execute the basic movements – 20 meter circles, smooth change of direction at trot, smooth upward and downward trasnistions and simple lead changes – they move on to the jumping. Grid work plays a big role in Jennifer's training methods over fences. It allows the rider to focus on their position, sets the stage for success for the horse and is an essential building block for safe and enjoyable jumping.

Jennifer will outline individual training programs based on her students experiences, goals and the ability of their horse(s). She helps her students make well educated decisions on moving up the levels, use of equipment and overall care of eventing horses.
